COROL PAC LV Overview
Polyanionic cellulose is a cellulose ether made water-soluble by substitution. In water-based muds it adsorbs onto clay particles and helps form a thin, tight filter cake, reducing the volume of filtrate that invades the formation.
PAC comes in different viscosity grades. A high-viscosity (HV) grade adds viscosity as well as fluid loss control. COROL PAC LV is the low-viscosity grade: it delivers filtration control with only a small effect on rheology, which is useful in weighted muds or where viscosity is already high. It is also tolerant of salt, so it works in fresh water, seawater and brine-based systems.
