COROMUL PEV Overview
In an invert emulsion mud, brine is broken into very small droplets held in a continuous oil phase. The primary emulsifier sits at the oil-brine interface and keeps those droplets from merging, which is what gives the mud its stability, its fluid loss performance and its high electrical stability.
COROMUL PEV does this primary job: it is the emulsifier that forms the emulsion. COROMUL SEV, our secondary emulsifier, then supports it by strengthening the emulsion and keeping solids oil-wet. Many systems use both together. PEV is a proprietary product, so its composition is not published; the addition rate is set by mud design and pilot tests.
