MEA 85% (COROL CI-M85) is a monoethanolamine-based product designed as a CO2 scavenger for drilling fluids. As an MEA 85% supplier in UAE, Corofy offers it for operators who need to manage carbon dioxide influx and its effects on mud chemistry.
Corofy supplies COROL CI-M85 from Dubai to mud companies and drilling contractors in the oil & gas industry throughout the GCC, Africa and Asia. It sits alongside our standard Monoethanolamine (MEA) supply but is offered specifically as an oilfield additive.
MEA 85% Overview
Monoethanolamine is an alkaline primary amine that reacts with carbon dioxide. That is the same chemistry behind its long use in gas sweetening. In a drilling fluid, the amine captures CO2 entering from the formation, which helps prevent carbonate and bicarbonate build-up and the associated loss of mud stability.
COROL CI-M85 is supplied at 85% MEA content, which makes it easier to handle and dose than pure MEA. Alkaline amines also help limit acid-gas corrosion of steel, so the product supports equipment protection as well as mud control.
MEA 85% Specifications
Product Identification
- Product Name: COROL CI-M85
Packaging & Documentation
- Documentation: COA, SDS / MSDS available
As an alkaline amine solution, COROL CI-M85 is packed in drums suited to corrosive liquids and labelled for transport. A COA accompanies each batch, and the SDS is provided so rig HSE teams can review handling and storage before the drums arrive.
Applications of MEA 85%
COROL CI-M85 is used where carbon dioxide is expected or detected in the drilling system.
CO2 Scavenging in Drilling Fluids
- Captures CO2 entering the mud from the formation.
- Helps limit carbonate and bicarbonate contamination of water-based muds.
Corrosion Mitigation
- Alkaline amine supports protection of drill string and surface equipment against acid-gas corrosion.
- Can be used alongside corrosion inhibitors in a mud treatment programme.
Well Intervention Fluids
- Can be considered for completion and workover fluids exposed to CO2, subject to compatibility testing.
Why Choose Corofy for MEA 85%
Corofy keeps COROL CI-M85 ready for oilfield programmes that cannot wait for long shipping times.
- Ready-to-use 85% strength, packed in 200 kg drums
- Stocked in JAFZA for quick dispatch to rig bases
- Dangerous-goods and export documents prepared in-house
- Technical support on dosing and compatibility
CO2 influx can appear without much warning, and mud properties can deteriorate quickly once it does. Having an amine-based scavenger already in the region lets mud engineers respond without waiting for long international shipments. Corofy can ship CI-M85 to land rigs and offshore supply bases across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and can combine it with other mud chemicals in one load.
Handling, Storage & Safety
MEA solutions are corrosive to skin and eyes and harmful if swallowed or inhaled. Store drums closed in a cool, ventilated area away from acids and oxidisers, and protect from heat. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, goggles and face protection, and handle according to the SDS.
