Jet fuel always carries a small amount of dissolved water, and at the low temperatures of high-altitude flight this water can separate and freeze, blocking filters and fuel lines. A fuel system icing inhibitor (FSII) prevents this. Corofy is an FSII supplier in UAE, offering diethylene glycol monomethyl ether (DEGME) from Dubai.
We supply FSII to fuel distributors, aviation fuel handlers and fuel-additive blenders in the UAE, the GCC and export markets. It is part of our lubricant and automobile chemicals portfolio.
FSII Overview
The FSII Corofy supplies is diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, also known as DEGME, diethylene glycol methyl ether, methyl carbitol or 2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethanol. It is a glycol ether that is soluble in both fuel and water.
When added to jet fuel, DEGME moves into any free water that separates as the fuel cools and lowers its freezing point, so ice crystals do not form in tanks, filters and fuel lines. Fuel specifications set the permitted FSII content, and dosing is done by the fuel handler to the applicable specification.
DEGME replaced the earlier icing inhibitor EGME (ethylene glycol monomethyl ether) in most jet fuel specifications. FSII is mainly associated with military and some general-aviation fuels, and its use is governed by the fuel specification for the grade being supplied.

Product Identification
- Product Name: FSII
Packaging & Documentation
- Documentation: COA, SDS / MSDS available
Choose drums for smaller or occasional use and IBCs for regular dosing at fuel depots or blending sites.
Applications of FSII
FSII is used mainly in aviation fuels, with some wider uses as a glycol ether solvent.
Aviation Fuel
- Icing inhibitor added to jet fuel to prevent ice forming from dissolved water.
- Used by fuel handlers and distributors dosing to the fuel specification.
Fuel Additive Blending
- Component for fuel-additive packages that need an icing inhibitor.
- Drum and IBC supply suits additive blenders of different sizes.
Industrial Solvent Uses
- Glycol ether solvent with water and hydrocarbon compatibility.
- Coupling agent in cleaning and coating formulations.
Why Choose Corofy for FSII
Corofy supplies DEGME-based FSII with the documentation fuel and additive buyers expect.
- Supply in 200 kg drums or IBCs to suit usage
- COA and SDS for every consignment
- Stock and dispatch from Dubai and JAFZA
- Support with export paperwork for regional fuel handlers
Fuel handlers can contact us to discuss pack size and delivery planning, and we can provide the COA and SDS in advance so that receiving checks are straightforward.
Handling, Storage & Safety
DEGME is a combustible liquid and carries health hazard classifications, including reproductive toxicity, under GHS-based rules such as EU CLP. Avoid skin contact and breathing vapour, wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection, keep containers closed and store away from heat and oxidisers. Follow the SDS in full.
