Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) is an essential raw material in the automotive and lubricant industry, above all in engine coolants and antifreeze. Corofy supplies industrial-grade MEG for coolant and antifreeze manufacturing across the UAE, helping coolant manufacturers, lubricant producers and formulators keep product quality consistent.
As an antifreeze raw material supplier in Dubai, we support large-volume production runs with dependable sourcing, flexible packaging and export-ready logistics. This page covers MEG for coolant blending; for PET, oil & gas and general industrial use, see our main Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) supplier page. Both sit in our lubricant and automobile chemicals range.

What is Monoethylene Glycol?
Monoethylene Glycol is a clear, colourless, low-viscosity liquid known for its heat transfer performance and its ability to lower the freezing point of water. These properties make it one of the main base chemicals for automotive cooling systems, industrial coolants and heat transfer fluids.

Blending MEG for Coolant and Antifreeze
Engine coolant is a blend of MEG, water and an inhibitor package. The MEG share sets the freeze protection: more glycol gives a lower freezing point, up to about 60% MEG, above which protection falls again. Blends are normally made with demineralised (DM) water so that no scale forms in the cooling system.
| MEG in water (% by volume) | Approximate freezing point |
|---|---|
| 30% | -15 °C |
| 40% | -24 °C |
| 50% | -37 °C |
| 60% | -52 °C |
These are typical values for MEG and water alone. Always blend to the coolant specification you are making, and check the finished product.

Handling, Storage & Safety
Store Monoethylene Glycol in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat. MEG is harmful if swallowed, and its sweet taste makes spills a risk to children and animals, so clean them up promptly. Follow recommended industrial handling procedures and the SDS.
