COROL SI300 Overview
Amine-based shale inhibitors carry positively charged groups that adsorb onto negatively charged clay surfaces. Once attached, they reduce water uptake between clay layers, so the shale is less likely to swell, soften or disperse into the mud.
Polyamine inhibitors are often used to bring water-based muds closer to oil-based mud performance on shale stability. They can be used on their own or together with KCl, glycols and encapsulating polymers. SI300 is a proprietary formulation.
